The Building Project
The building will provide a safe and inviting space for Tommy's Home residents and their children. This is where they will heal, learn, and take control of their own story. Join with TH to make the building a reality for the people of Camden.

Join us in Building Tommy's Home
The overall scope for Tommy's Home incorporates a four-story, mixed-use development to be located within the City Limits of Camden, New Jersey as a positive addition to the resources available to the residents. The concept design is targeting a rehab and stabilization facility intended to provide medical, physical, emotional, and spiritual guidance for women and their children currently residing within Camden who have been living within the drug, prostitution and/or homeless communities, specifically. Tommy's Home desires to not only provide rehabilitation services but general education to assist families in finding a new beginning without the need for drugs and or prostitution to provide for themselves and their loved ones. The building design and construction is intended to provide a sense of security for people, welcoming, yet protected. The design will embrace the sense and feel of an oasis. Tommy's Home is to be centrally located within Camden, New Jersey to meet the women and children right where they are. Tommy's Home is intended to be a refuge and resource for those looking for a better life for themselves and their children. Tommy's Home differs from other State Operated rehab facilities as families will be able to remain a family unit and not be separated; while the mother goes through rehab and the children are relocated to Foster care. Tommy's Home will provide for the entire family allowing the mothers and children alike to receive physical, emotion and spiritual care that each family member needs. The OG, Tommy, has been providing services to the Camden residents for decades and the street outreach will continue to remain in operation, a Storage Facility to house all of the equipment, vehicles, food and supplies necessary will be readily accessible from the Auxiliary Storage Facility on site. Frequently there is need but not a heart change in people to strive for a better life, for this reason, the overall design of the new facility will be designed to accommodate people at different stages of addiction and recovery. Meeting people in the streets with outreach is just the starting place, the next step will be welcoming people at Tommy's Home by providing educational opportunities, food, clothing and physical hygiene and medical care while continuing to build relationship. Full time recovery and rehabilitation will be the third level of interaction and will provide full time housing, schooling, counselling and medical care which will take place in a separate residential wing. Full time residents will progress through a program designed to give them the tools they need to maintain a stable job, understand finances and will learn household tasks to provide for themselves and their families. The building design will take all of these things into consideration along with people needing separation from others in different stages of addiction or rehabilitation and will be designed to ensure each individual feels loved and safe, or free to be who and where they are without pressure.
